From adversity we grow in faith and strength.
This is the message that Hong Kong entertainer Samuel
Hui wants to impart to all in the wake of the tsunami
disaster that has shocked the world.
“That is why I came back to the entertainment
industry. I want to use my music to share my philosophies
on life and bring joy to the people,” he said.
Hui emerged from retirement last year, after 12 years,
following the despair caused by the SARS virus and deaths
of several notable celebrities (Roman Tam, Leslie Cheung
and Anita Mui).

He wrote two songs, 04 Zhu Fu Ni (04 Blessings) and Ji Xu Wei
Xiao (Keep Smiling), which he dedicated to his fellow countrymen.
He also held a 10-show concert series that was increased to
38 due to overwhelming demand.
“It is heartening to see people coming together to
help wherever there’s a tragedy. I hope everyone will
keep smiling and stay strong,” said the 56-year-old
in a pre-recorded video message.
The recording was played during a press conference last week
held to announce the participation of Da Ma Cai as presenter
for the Sam Hui Live in Malaysia 2005 concert.
Da Ma Cai will be sending two lucky winners and their friends
(one each) to Hong Kong to watch Hui’s Chinese New Year
